sliiidea
Swipe right on your next big idea
Always keep track of ALL your ideas! Sliiidea makes it easy and fun to capture, evaluate, and organize your thoughts with a dating-app-like swipe interface. Ensure all your ideas get the attention they need, stay organized, and identify your best options.Hi Product Hunt, 👋
While collecting ideas in note-taking apps, I realized some downsides in my process:
- I didn't regularly review all my ideas (some caught my eye while others were neglected, even though they had great potential).
- My preferences changed day-to-day; an idea I loved one day might not appeal the next.
- Long lists became confusing and hard to manage.
So, I decided to build a simple, intuitive, and fun app to evaluate my ideas regularly, even on the go, ensuring all my ideas get attention and none are lost.
Here's how it works:
- Capture Ideas: Write down your idea and optionally add a category (e.g. app ideas, side projects, name for something).
- Evaluate with Swipes: Each idea enters your evaluation cycle. Swipe right if you like it, left if you don't.
- Organize and Grow: Continuously add thoughts or notes. In the list overview, ideas grow and get sorted by your likes, helping you identify your favorites or most promising ones.
This app isn’t just for typical "ideas". It works great for deciding on travel destinations, books to read, or pet names – anything where you have many options and some time to decide.
While building Sliiidea, I was inspired by Rick Rubin’s perspective on the creative process. It allows users to plant their ideas like seeds, nurture them with regular evaluation, and support their growth with new thoughts.
I’m super excited because this is my first ever launch! I’d love to hear your feedback and see how you use the app. Happy ideating!@chethan_bm Thanks! :)Benedikt, this is pretty cool. People will familiarise the UI/UIX swiping interface so it will be easier for them to manage it + love the naming. :) Web page is clear / mimimalistic. You nailed it. Good luck with the launch today :)@busmark_w_nika Hey Nika, thanks for your comment! I’m really glad you like it, it means a lot to me. 😊OKay, this is pretty cool! I downloaded it on my Mac and I love it:
- I would recommend a few improvements for the PC version – there is something like "sort by upvotes" – by each tapping on the heart I can only add hearts – but I would like to decrease also the counting.
- When I create some task, I would like to have a chance to edit it (RN, I couldn't find the option).
- If I could drag them and drop them below/above, that would be also fine.
@busmark_w_nika Thank you and congratulations, you are the first real user! 🎉 You've got some excellent points: You can decrease the like count of an idea in the list view by swiping the list item to the left. Also, you can edit any idea anywhere in the app by long pressing on it. I may need to consider adding a more detailed tutorial in future versions.
The suggestion to drag and drop ideas up and down is a great one. I'll definitely consider it for future updates.
Thanks again for your feedback - I really appreciate it!Liked the "idea" of the app @bennyqp! Simple thought, looks useful. And Congratulations on the launch!Hey Benedikt 👋 I really like the idea too, so far all my notes are just jotted down on a sad note page and it doesn't give them justice, nor does it give me the motivation to go through them and review them 😄
I downloaded the app (Android) and tried to sign up but the continue with Google button does not do anything and then the Continue with email
one tells me to please use the sign-in method used to create my account
so I'm stuck 🙈@annedevj Hey Anne, yeah, it was the same for me too. That’s why I created sliiidea!
Oh no, it sounds like there’s an issue. I’m going to look into it right away and get it sorted. Thanks for letting me know! I’ll keep you posted.@bennyqp actually restarting the app worked, but indeed on sign up I had a problem to go any further :) excited to try it out, thanks!@annedevj Great to hear it’s working now! Thanks for the heads-up, I’ll look into that issue. If you have any more feedback as you use the app, I’d love to hear it 😊
