Redding's Startup Games Are Here!
REDDING, Calif. — Both seasoned and aspiring entrepreneurs are gearing up for this year's Shasta Economic Development Startup Games. This event is a fantastic opportunity for those interested in entrepreneurship to validate their ideas and gain valuable insights.
Fostering Skills and Talent
According to the Shasta Economic Development Corporation (Shasta EDC), the financial backer of the Startup Games, this initiative aims to nurture the skills and talent needed in the county's workforce. Katie Janiszewski, the Director of Start Up Redding, emphasizes the importance of sharing business ideas and surrounding oneself with positivity, even in the absence of financial resources.
“The more validation and iteration you can do on your prototyping or your MVPs (minimum viable products), that’s going to get you a lot of information and most of the time you can do that without spending a lot of money,” said Janiszewski.
Find Market Gaps
For those looking to start a business in Redding, Janiszewski advises aspiring entrepreneurs to identify gaps in the market where they can offer solutions that better serve the community.
Event Details
The event kicks off on Nov. 1, where participants will pitch their business ideas and form teams based on the best concepts. Teams will then develop a prototype, gather customer feedback, and prepare to present their findings at a live “shark tank” style event on Sunday.
This exciting event is free and open to the public, taking place at the IOOF building in downtown Redding at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Don't miss the chance to witness innovation in action!
