Atlanta's Historic Biltmore Reborn as a Tech Hub

Georgia Tech is breathing new life into the historic Biltmore, transforming it into a vibrant center for startups and innovation. This iconic building, which first opened in 1924, is now a collaborative space for students, researchers, and business leaders to pioneer the next big thing.

A New Chapter for The Biltmore

Located in the heart of Midtown’s Tech Square, the Biltmore is set to propel Atlanta into the ranks of the top five tech cities in the U.S. Georgia Tech President Ángel Cabrera emphasizes, "This is more than a building—it’s a launchpad for Atlanta’s future."

From Historic Landmark to Innovation Powerhouse

Once a cornerstone of Atlanta’s business and social scenes, the Biltmore is now a catalyst for startup growth. Mayor Andre Dickens highlights, "Atlanta is becoming the startup capital of the South, and this next chapter for The Biltmore strengthens our momentum."

Inside The Biltmore’s Innovation Ecosystem

The building boasts over 100,000 square feet dedicated to fostering startups, featuring programs like:

  • CREATE-X: Georgia Tech’s student startup accelerator, responsible for launching over 600 companies.
  • Quadrant-i: Translates research into market-ready products.
  • VentureLab: Equips entrepreneurs with the skills to bring ideas to market.

Additionally, the Biltmore will host venture capital firms, providing startups with access to funding and mentorship.

Tech Square: Atlanta’s Innovation District

This initiative is part of a larger vision for Tech Square, home to 35+ innovation centers and 30 Georgia Tech programs. With two new towers opening in 2026, the area is poised to become a national leader in tech and entrepreneurship.
