Introduction

We're excited to introduce the 15 startups selected for our inaugural Google for Startups Accelerator: AI for Nature program.

The Urgency of Action

It’s estimated that without immediate action, more than half of global GDP is exposed to extensive risk from the decline of the natural world. Google has developed various products and platforms to tackle this issue, including:

• Earth Engine for geospatial analysis
• SpeciesNet for analyzing photos from camera traps
• Perch, a bioacoustics model used by researchers worldwide to detect bird species.

Supporting Startups

To further support this initiative, the Google for Startups Accelerator: AI for Nature is a 10-week program designed to equip early-stage startups with the resources needed to scale their impact. Participants receive mentorship from Google experts, technical support, and access to cutting-edge technology, including AI/ML, Cloud, and Maps. After the Accelerator, these startups will join the Google for Startups alumni network, continuing to receive support and insights.

6. Ecotrace Solutions (Brazil) - Uses blockchain, AI, and IoT for traceability in the agribusiness supply chain.
7. eDNA Explorer (USA) - Integrates eDNA and geospatial data for ecosystem management.
8. OnDeck (Canada) - Automates ocean video monitoring using AI.
9. Renoster (USA) - Brings transparency to carbon markets.
10. Savimbo (USA) - A social enterprise for Indigenous Peoples to access climate markets.
11. SenseNet (Canada) - A comprehensive wildfire platform for early detection and response.
12. Terradot (USA) - Builds gigaton-scale carbon removal through Enhanced Rock Weathering.
13. Toroto (Mexico) - Empowers communities to act on climate change with nature-based solutions.
