Israeli cyber unicorn Cyera is making headlines again as it secures hundreds of millions in funding, pushing its valuation beyond $6 billion. This marks a significant leap from its $3 billion valuation in November last year, following a $300 million Series D round led by Accel and Sapphire Ventures, with contributions from Sequoia, Coatue, Redpoint, and Georgian.
Since its inception in 2021, Cyera has amassed approximately $760 million in total funding, not including the current round. The company was founded by Yotam Segev (CEO) and Tamar Bar-Ilan (CTO), both alumni of the IDF’s prestigious Talpiot program and Unit 8200.
Cyera's platform leverages AI and machine learning to help companies discover, classify, and protect their data across various environments, including cloud, SaaS, and on-premises systems. This innovative approach to Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) has positioned Cyera as a leader in the cybersecurity space.
In a strategic move to bolster its offerings, Cyera acquired Trail Security, an Israeli data loss protection (DLP) company, for $162 million last October. This acquisition not only enhanced Cyera's DSPM solution but also brought in top-tier talent from elite programs like the Israel Ministry of Defence’s Talpiot.
AI is at the core of Cyera's operations, as highlighted by CEO Yotam Segev: "We use AI to create visibility and understanding of data at scale. The challenge is scaling AI efficiently without exorbitant costs, which we've managed to overcome."
Adding to its momentum, Cyera recently announced key appointments, including Sol Rashidi as Chief Strategy Officer for Data and AI, signaling its commitment to innovation and growth in the AI-driven cybersecurity landscape.
