A Hub for AI Innovation

Spun off from the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence in 2022, AI2 Incubator has established itself as a pure artificial intelligence incubator, boasting over 40 spinout companies with a collective worth of $1.4 billion. Its focus areas include task-centric AI, foundation model operations, domain-specific foundation models, and generative/creative AI.

Notable Success Stories

The incubator's portfolio includes high-profile acquisitions such as:

  • Kitt.ai by Baidu
  • Lexion by Docusign
  • Xnor.ai by Apple

Collectively, its startups have raised over $325 million, attracting investments from venture capital giants like Madrona Venture Group, Sequoia Capital, and Two Sigma Ventures.

The AI House: A Collaborative Space

Earlier this year, AI2 Incubator moved into its new headquarters, the "AI House" at Pier 70 on the Seattle waterfront. This space is designed to foster collaboration among entrepreneurs, investors, students, and community leaders, supported by the City of Seattle and the state of Washington.

Leadership at the Helm

The organization is led by managing directors Jacob Colker and Yifan Zhang, alongside technical directors Oren Etzioni and Vu Ha, steering the incubator towards its vision of accelerating AI innovation.
